Introduces the notion of career interest categories in an interactive classroom based setting. From: Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science CareersPortal is Ireland's national career guidance service, providing the most up-to-date and relevant career information and resources to those needing or providing career guidance. NCGE and CareersPortal.ie are delighted to provide a suite of innovative and integrated on-line Junior Cycle Guidance Related Learning and Teaching Resources. These resources may be incorporated into the school Wellbeing Programme and Other Areas of Learning, as appropriate. Below you will find 3 Units of Learning suitable for 1st, 2nd and 3rd years students.

Each unit of learning contains 6 classes and includes a Lesson Plan, Presentation and Student Worksheet. Where appropriate there will also be a Teacher Answer Sheet. Please note these units of learning are incremental. Class content will include a focus on Developing Myself, Developing My Learning and Developing My Career Path. Overarching topics include: My School Year, My Supports, My Goals, My Values, My Study Skills and My Pathways. The following files provide an overview of resources for the three years: Appendix 1 (1st yr); Appendix 2 (2nd yr); Appendix 3 (3rd Yr).
