บริษัท พีทีที โกลบอล เคมิคอล จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ GCเดินหน้าเพิ่มมูลค่าให้พลาสติกใช้แล้วอย่างต่อเนื่อง จัดโครงการ GC Upcycling Upstyling ปีที่ 4 ผนึกพลังพันธมิตร GEN S ประกอบด้วย 8 พาร์ตเนอร์ธุรกิจชั้นนำ ที่มุ่งมั่นจัดการพลาสติกใช้แล้วอย่างเป็นระบบร่วมกับ GC YOUเทิร์น และ 12 แฟชั่นแบรนด์และดีไซน์เนอร์ชื่อดังของเมืองไทย สร้างสรรค์สินค้าแฟชั่นและไลฟ์สไตล์จากพลาสติกใช้แล้ว อัปเกรดดีกรีแฟชั่น Eco ภายใต้ธีม ‘Design for Sustainable Living’... ดร.ชญาน์ จันทวสุ รองกรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ สายงานความยั่งยืนองค์กร บริษัท พีทีที โกลบอล เคมิคอล จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ GC กล่าวว่า “เพราะปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมเป็นเรื่องของพวกเราทุกคน การลดการใช้ทรัพยากรใหม่และการหมุนเวียนใช้ซ้ำ เป็นหนึ่งในหัวใจสำคัญของ Sustainable Living ทาง GC ใช้หลักเศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียน หรือ Circular Economy มาบริหารพลาสติกใช้แล้วแบบครบวงจรผ่าน GC YOUเทิร์น แพลตฟอร์ม ตั้งแต่จุดรับ จนถึงปลายทาง และกลายเป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ผ่านการออกแบบในดีไซน์ต่างๆ โครงการ GC Upcycling Upstyling จึงได้ถือกำเนิดขึ้น เพื่อนำแนวคิดด้านการออกแบบมาผสานกับนวัตกรรม สู่การสร้างสรรค์สินค้า Upcycling ชุบชีวิตพลาสติกใช้แล้ว ให้กลายเป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ใหม่ที่เพิ่มมูลค่า สามารถใช้งานได้จริงพร้อมทั้งตอบโจทย์ไลฟ์สไตล์ของชีวิตในปัจจุบัน” โครงการ GC Upcycling Upstyling จัดขึ้นต่อเนื่องเป็นปีที่ 4 ประสบความสำเร็จอย่างงดงาม จากการผสานความร่วมมือระหว่าง GC และพันธมิตรต่างๆ ที่เป็น GC YOUเทิร์น พาร์ตเนอร์ ด้วยกระแสตอบรับที่ดี ในตลอดระยะเวลา 3 ปีที่ผ่านมา โดยในปีนี้ GC ได้ร่วมมือกับแฟชั่นแบรนด์และดีไซเนอร์ไทยชั้นนำ ที่มีความเชี่ยวชาญด้านการออกแบบและความคิดสร้างสรรค์ นำพลาสติกใช้แล้วมาเพิ่มมูลค่าผ่านการออกแบบรักษ์โลกอย่างยั่งยืน Eco-Design สร้างสรรค์เป็นผลงานต้นแบบ รวม 15 คอลเลกชัน จากพลาสติกใช้แล้ว จากขวดน้ำดื่ม (PET Bottle) จำนวน 992 ขวด สามารถลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกได้กว่า 17.4 กิโลกรัมคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์เทียบเท่า โดยจะนำไปพัฒนาเป็นสินค้าแฟชั่นและไลฟ์สไตล์ เพื่อต่อยอดธุรกิจ เพิ่มช่องทางการตลาดและการจำหน่ายให้กับธุรกิจ Upcycling ของ GC ต่อไป GC partnered with 11 Thai famous designers to continue the ‘Upcycling Upstyling’ project to upcycle plastic waste into various types of Eco-Design products by adding value through the upcycling process together with expanding business...

Discarded plastic waste, while it impacts the environment, can have a useful purpose by harnessing innovation and ideas to turn the waste into new and value-added products as part of the ‘Upcycling Upstyling’ project... In February 2020, GC unveiled the ‘Upcycling Upstyling’ project to promote product design and development in the form of Eco-Design under the “Up Waste to Value with a WOW! Style” concept creating value-added upcycling products that serve diverse functions, supports the GC Circular Living concept into daily life, and promotes the efficient use of resources to ensure their maximum benefits. The ‘Upcycling Upstyling’ project is an opportunity for GC’s 19 partner companies in different industries including packaging operators, fisheries product manufacturers (nets and seines), and hospitals to co-create and co-design with 10 style experts... This can include traditional, recycled and bioplastics using ideas combined with innovations to create new stylish and eco-friendly products that encompass craftworks, jewelry and architectural designs as well as business models. Today, waste or discarded materials from the 19 companies’ facilities are being recreated with added value using some incredible designs.
