Mary Suiter is assistant vice president and economic education officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, where she has been responsible for developing online programming, videos, lesson plans and whiteboard applications for classroom use. Currently, the St. Louis Fed offers more than 200 of her team’s economics and personal finance resources. In 2014, 540,000 enrollments in online courses and videos and more than 334,500 downloads of lessons and whiteboard applications. Suiter received her B.S.

in economics from the University of Missouri–St. Louis, her M.S. in economic education from the University of Delaware, and her Ph.D. in teaching and learning from the University of Missouri–St. Louis. In 2013, she received the University of Delaware Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics Alumni Association Alumni Award of Excellence.

She is past president of the National Association of Economic Educators and a recipient of its Bessie B. Moore Service Award in 1996 and its Patricia K. Elder International Award in 2010. Prior to joining the Fed, she was director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Education at the University of Missouri–St. Louis for 3 years and associate director for 10 years. She is past president of the National Association of Economic Educators.

The Global Interdependence Center (GIC) is a Philadelphia-based non-profit organization that holds conferences and programming to increase global dialogue and promote free trade, in order to improve cooperation and understanding among nation states, with... The GIC was founded in 1976 during Philadelphia's Bicentennial Celebration at convocation of leading United Nations and U.S. officials.[1] Its vision was affirmed in a Declaration of Interdependence, which was crafted by historian Henry Steele Commager and signed by international dignitaries. Early leaders in the organization included Nobel Laureate Dr. Lawrence Klein, Benjamin Franklin Professor of Economics and Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. GIC hosts and sponsors many programs throughout the year, both in Philadelphia, where it is based, and abroad.

Programming comprises international trips, domestic conferences and roundtable discussions. The Central Banking Series: This series assembles well-known bankers to speak on their countries' monetary policies, their views on U.S. economics and the business ramifications of monetary systems.

Recent speakers have included Christian Noyer, governor of the Banque de France and Richard Fisher, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.[2] We are a nonpartisan organization that explores the interdependencies of monetary policy, fiscal policy, trade, and exogenous events in the global economy.
