Here is a new single link to a vast set of resources which can assist Sporcle quiz-makers. It includes its own internal links to Sporcle’s FAQ, key blog posts, and all known threads within Sporcle University which already provide answers to frequent questions: It is our hope that this single link will be a viable source of many solutions, empowering newbies or those of us experimenting with formats heretofore new to us. You can explore it for yourself. And, if you are aware of a useful link therein, you can feel free to direct others to it, and/or specific solutions you now know already exist therein, when new threads with “repeat” questions... It is a work-in-progress, which we hope will also eventually lead to more in-depth procedural guidelines, along with visible samples.

Have you always wanted to create a quiz on Sporcle, but weren’t sure how to get started? This guide is for you! Read through the instructions below, contribute a quiz, and you’ll be a great quizmaker before you know it. Sporcle has several different types of quizzes you can create, but we will get started with the most basic quiz type – the Classic (list-based) quiz. Before you can create a quiz, you’ll need an account on Sporcle. It’s free and easy to sign up.

Just go to our sign up page and create an account. If this is your very first time, you’ll need to accept our quiz creation terms of service before you can start making your quiz. Once you’ve accepted the terms, navigate to the Game Creation Center and click the orange ‘Create a Sporcle Quiz’ button. You should see a screen like the one below. All you need to do is enter some basic information about the quiz you’re making. Whether you’re just getting started on creating Sporcle quizzes or are already well-published, you can always add new resources to your arsenal.

We have help for every step of the way. When you have a great idea for a Sporcle quiz, you need to make sure you’re the first to make that idea a reality. Our search tool is the perfect resource for this. Make sure to check different keywords and possible titles to catch matching quizzes with slightly different names. A thesaurus can help you find synonyms for key words for your concept. If the number of results is overwhelming, you can also use some of our filters to narrow your search down to quizzes that match your concept more closely.

For this, the most useful filters are usually Category and Type. Quizzes need data, and data needs sources. Not all sources are equally trustworthy, but it only takes a few strong go-to options to support you through a wide variety of quizzes. Some of the Sporcle staff favorites include: Baseball Reference, CIA World Factbook, Citypopulation.de, imdb, Box Office Mojo, census websites (US), Merriam Webster, Scrabble Word Finder, Disney Website.
