This week we learned the fundamentals of Maya Animation. To begin I applied keyframes to a sphere to make a short animation of a bouncing ball. I applied an editable motion trail that allowed me to manipulate the path of the ball. I also applied the 'squash and stretch' rules to the ball to make its movements more lifelike. Although the motion is not entirely smooth it captures the basic principles of animation within Maya and shows the movements of a bouncing ball. This is the time slider and animation controls used to keyframe.
Here shows the motion trail used to track and edit the motion of the ball. A collection of projects made over the years using different techniques, styles, and animation software like Harmony, After Effects, and Clip Studio Paint. My senior project from the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, Wild Fire focuses on my storytelling techniques and design sensibilities, through character design, layouts, and prop design. This film was recognized by film festivals such as The World Student Awards, The International Inter-University Short Film Festival, The Flint Youth Film Festival, SHORT to the Point, etc. My junior film made at the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania tells a story of the legendary creature, Moth-Man, sneaking into a suburban home due to his uncontrollable attraction to lights. This short film focuses on my animation capabilities, and experiments with lighting in a little suburban home.
A short stop motion project combining several techniques such as sand animation, puppet animation, and pixilation. A short film about a girl and her encounter with a bumble bee in a garden. Bee-Freind was made using puppet animation in Adobe Animate. 1. In as much detail as possible record the steps it took to create this project in Adobe illustrator. Use complete sentences. Try to recall as many of the different tools, shapes, and keyboard commands as possible.
In the beginning I opened Adobe Illustrator, At first I thought of tracing a photo of myself, Instead I used the pen tool to trace parts of my nose, after I did that I... I had to use multiple art boards for the body, For the body I had used a character sheet, I did not move or animate the feet/legs as much but after I used the... Before I moved it to PS I turned it into a file and used all art boards, it originally was all PNG's When I moved it so PS) After I was done with filling... 2. What was the most challenging part of creating your Avatar?' The most challenging part was making it look like me, I think its close but more in a animated type of style, I thought making shoes and the sweat-pants were very difficult.
3. What ways did you move the arms and legs to create movement? Did your Avatar move like you wanted it to? I created movement by moving the arms, eyes and body with different art boards and moving them to where I thought looked nice. 4. Are there any improvements you would make next time?
Why or why not? I made this personal project with two of my friends. This work is very personal to me as we used one of my stories to create the animation around. I worked with my friends Kat (Home | My Site 2) and Avery (Avery's Digital Media Portfolio) in quotations are the links to their websites. All of the characters that are scenes in the video are mine except for the child who would be Kat's character. Going into it we were very ambitious, as we only had a week to complete it which is why there isn't any color.
When starting I had chosen the song, we were going to use and made sure everyone was okay with it. We than drew out our own story boards and came together on what we were doing, mixing and matching from each creative thought. We wrote down what colors each character would be drawn in and what scenes each person was going to make. Once we were all finished, we edited it together to make our animation come to life. Bellow you can see what scenes I animated and or drew. everything we made was on procreate.
Here are some earlier works of mine, most of them are small test animations to get used to and learn the fluidness of animation. All of these where created on flipaclip back in my highschool years. I had started animation in 6th grade and am self tought. taking breaks from animation throught the year but have always found a way back.
