This work is inspired by both Victorian 3D decoupage, The female Mystique by Betty Friedan,(Friedan, 2010) and a variety of works written by Charlotte Perkins Gilmore.

All of these works depict the repetitious and monotonous day of a housewife. Whereas all my previous developments were composed revolving around the anthropomorphised housewife. Presently I have removed this dehumanisation and focuses on manufacturing and illustrating of her day through the use of household objects in relation to her chores. The most important factor to this installation art is how I intend to exhibit this work; It should be noted that I intend on making 12 different domesticated objects, therefore, using the exhibition space... The clock and time is a central theme to this composition as arguable housewives live revolves around a time management. Therefore the audience will be guided to view this work clockwise, beginning at the beginning of her day and finishing with her going to bed.

I would prefer to exhibit this in a circular room in order to portray the never-ending cycle of her repetitious days, weeks, month and years. During the summer I studied natural dyeing techniques, collected dyestuff from my local area and dyed natural silk and cotton a variety of shades. I began investigating if natural dyes could make a comeback in our fast fashion industry as an alternative to toxic chemical dyes. Alongside the negative impacts of chemical dyes, plastic is also a huge polluter, regardless of this sequins are still mass produced and sewn onto garments. The tiny micro plastics can harm both human and wildlife. I decided to create my own organic sequins, creating embellishments from waste vegetable skins such as onions, it was an interesting project but I did have to solve the issue of my work slowly...
