Building Bridges is back with its fifth edition running December 9 -12, 2024 at the Centre International de Conférences Genève (CICG) and online. CommunicationPublished on 15 October 2025 From Sept 30–Oct 2, Geneva hosted the Building Bridges conference, uniting global leaders to mobilize finance for social and environmental impact.

The event brought together a wide range of stakeholders — from the financial and private sectors to international organizations, academia, NGOs, and public institutions — all united by one goal: mobilizing capital for positive... Over three days, the conference featured more than 50 action events and three high-level plenaries, combining panels, workshops, and fishbowl discussions to exchange ideas, share experiences, and collectively chart the path toward a more... Peter Beez and Dr. Thierry Buchs, both Senior Policy Advisors in the Economy and Education Section, also participated as speakers in several events, including the Impact-Linked Finance Collaborative sessions alongside partners from Roots of Impact, Acumen and others... Setting the tone for the event, former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry highlighted the “power of investability” in driving systemic change.

The discussions will explore the twin climate and nature crises, widening social inequalities, and how to mobilize capital in unprecedented amounts to build a just, resilient, and sustainable future. The event consists of a Summit (9 December) and subsequent Action Days (10 - 11 December). After a Keynote Speech 'Wisdom from the Elders with Mary Robinson', former President of Ireland, the event provides four panel discussions: In-person participation in the Summit is invitation-only, whereas online participation is open to all. The Building Bridges yearly event in Geneva is organised by the Building Bridges Foundation on behalf of its Founding Partners, a unique alliance of institutions from the financial sector, public authorities and Geneva-based international... This multi-day event provides a unique platform to share, learn and act, in a collective way, with the shared objective to transform how private capital is mobilised to achieve positive social and environmental impact. Over 700 participants attended the Building Bridges high-level Summit, with NatureFinance showcasing tools and pathways to align finance with nature, climate and equity in a context of growing geopolitical fragmentation. This solution-oriented event highlighted main lessons learned from recent pilots of NatureFinance’ Alignment Tool and discussed the transformational impact technology can have in unlocking challenges, including achieving fuller transparency in value chains.
