If you're a teacher, student, or parent using a free (non-school-associated) Canvas account, log in here. Make sure that your free account is for canvas.instructure.com or k12.instructure.com. Canvas is the University of Illinois' official learning management system (LMS).

This state-of-the-art, user-friendly platform provides students and instructors with one central location where they can easily access their course syllabus, assignments, announcements, grades and anything else that is pertinent to their course. (NOTE: Some niche programs may use a different LMS that is tailored to their specific needs.) Requesting a course site is a manual process. Go request a course space. Almost all courses will be Registrar-Affiliated. Follow their instructions for ordering your course site. Note that adding content, such as the material used in a previous course, is also a manual process. The Instructional Support Team is happy to assist you in that work.

By default, enrolled students are able to access a quarter-based course in Canvas one week before the start date of the course through one week after the course ends. Semester-based courses are available to enrolled students from the start date of the course through one week after the course ends. Students will maintain read-only access to their courses after the end date. Instructors may also override the default dates in order to provide extended or more limited access to the course.
