Bioworkz is an artist that we will study for the first unit. He uses pattern, line, shape and colour to create his most wonderful bits of art! Develop students' creativity and self-expression, to equip them with the skills and knowledge to be performers/artists or patrons of the arts, and to provide numerous opportunities to experience the joy of performing/exhibiting. Students investigate and document the Fauvist aims and intentions and reflect on how colour and distortion can manipulate the image into something new. Students explore Fauvist compositional values within their own landscapes and use expressive non-representational colour and distortion to create an oil pastel drawing. I chose her because I really like her work. Jo Whaley's work is very colourful and unique, capturing lots of different colours, her photographs looking like drawings. I made this final piece because I wanted to use the same methods as Jo Whaley.
I like this photograph because is very colourful. First I increased the saturation to add more colour. Then I changed the levels. To finish the image I lowered the brightness and increased the contrast to make it look prettier. I chose Phill Straus because I like how he used camera position to explore detail in close-up views. His work is very detailed and interesting.
I made this final piece because I wanted to use the same methods as Phil Straus. I like this photograph because it shows detail in close-up. This year in Adaptive Art we have been learning about lots of different Artists and ways to make art. Drawing, painting, cutting and gluing, printmaking, and even 3D sculptures! This is an introductory level high school comprehensive art program in the visual arts, including art history, criticism, aesthetics, and production of two-and three-dimensional art forms. The course also familiarizes students with artistic career opportunities and field trip experiences. This class meets every day, all year long and is worth 1 credit. This is an intermediate level course building upon Art I instruction. Art II instruction emphasizes elements and principles in design, production of art, critique, and aesthetic responses to artworks. This class meets everyday, all year long and is worth 1 credit.
This is an advanced level high school comprehensive program in visual arts, expanding upon and diverging from concepts, techniques and methodologies established in Art II. This course will develop personal styles in a variety of visual arts processes including, but not limited to, drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, aesthetics, art appreciation, and portfolio preparation. This class meets every day, all year long and is worth 1 credit. Mastery level art course designed for college preparation and portfolio development. Particular attention to development of individual students’ style and aesthetic choices will be a strong area of focus. Exposure to contemporary artists, philosophies, and museum trips will be an integral part of Art IV.
This class meets every day, all year long and is worth 1 credit. This is an introduction and exposure to various types of painting and drawing techniques and art media. This course will provide beginning studio experiences in, but not limited to, portraits, still lifes, landscapes, and computer-generated art work. This will be a brief introduction to artists and movements of important historical impact. this class meets every day for one semester and is worth .5 credit.
