The element fire is my inspiration for this piece. Morphing the human into fire relays that we are made from nature. The sexualization of the world makes us often forget the potentialities of the human body as a natural being. Bring your ideas to life on the leading website builder. Start for free. Created for Mental Health America's Back to School campaign, the goal of this animation is to compel people that suspect they have mental illness to take a screening on the MHA site. To achieve this goal we establish an emotional connection by going through symptoms of anxiety. The workload was distributed among a three person team consisting of myself, and fellow designers Holly Galvan and Piper Fields.
My roles included concept design, storyboarding, background design, frame by frame animation, and compiling. I animated the portion of video staring at 0:31 and ending at 0:54. In order to make the content inclusive, a version of this animation was made to include audio descriptions. Accessibility consultant Jean Hanks met with us to discuss the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Audio descriptions are included to make the video ADA compliant. This ensures that people with visual impairments can understand what the content is depicting.
Cell City is an educational video for elementary aged children designed to teach the basic functions of organelles inside the cell, using the analogy of a city. By relating each organelle to a part of a city, the content becomes relatable, and easier for kids to understand. These storyboards contain early concepts for the design of the organelles, the city transformations, and the flow of the animation. Some of which differs from the final animation. This is Mayor Nooks, the character who delivers the narration and introduces the cell and organelle topics. He provides a face to the voice, and immerses the audience in the world of Cell City.
Here are the organelles of the cell. Each are color coordinated to make identification easy. The vibrant, colorful designs are used to capture attention. This is an organelle information page. Each organelle has a specific page that coordinates with the color of the organelle. This is where the bulk of information on each organelle is displayed.
The unified, clean format of the pages help with memorization of the material. Hailing from the Appalachians of rural east Tennessee, metal virtuoso McKenzie Tucker is the Jim Carrey of music. His studio work includes Etymon by Generation Why, Let’s Get Crazy by Vinny B, and Bee Bong’s self titled album. Tucker has appeared as a guest performer with Victor Wooten and was the first Belmont student to perform death metal in the Curb Cafe. McKenzie’s live performances are his specialty, where his explosive personality inspires people to shamelessly express themselves through music. McKenzie Tucker has been making a buzz in the music industry with incredible tunes.
