Often, these all in one curriculum will begin with pre-k / kindergarten and go all the way through high school. Some include fun extras, printables, or free materials. Most all-in-one homeschool curricula will enable you to help your child work at their own pace. However, even though it is an all-in-one curriculum, the homeschooling parent is responsible for providing and maintaining the quality of education for a high school diploma. Some people refer to text based all in one curriculum as a “boxed curriculum” or “literature-based curriculum.” Many who are new to homeschooling are often concerned about accreditation.

However, since homeschooling is legal in all 50 states and recognized as a legal form of education, accreditation is not necessary. Easy Peasy is a free online homeschool curriculum for preschool through high school, generously shared by a homeschooling mom named Lee Giles. This review focuses primarily on the Easy Peasy website with curriculum for preschool through eighth grade. It covers math, language arts, reading, science, history, Bible, music, and art with some additional electives. Giles has created a separate website for high school. The methodology is an eclectic mix of traditional and "Charlotte Mason" methods.

It uses real books, picture studies, copy work, and narration techniques that are generally indicative of Charlotte Mason's methodology, but it also has activity sheets and incorporates other online courses that are more traditionally... (I placed "Charlotte Mason" in quotes because there was no purposeful intent to employ Charlotte Mason methods even though some of the methods such as narration and picture studies look like that methodology.) Courses are presented as online lesson plans with day-by-day instruction. Lesson plans have links to specific lesson material for each day with clear instructions as to where to go and what to do. Linked material is often on other websites, although some is at Easy Peasy. And many lessons include content and activities directly within the lesson plans.

For most courses, you can print any included activity sheets for free as you go through the lessons or print them all at once from a free file. You may also purchase a printed book with activity sheets if you don't want to print out the pages yourself, or if you just prefer having them contained in a book. Aside from a computer or tablet and the printed activity pages, students only need paper, pencils, scissors, glue, and either crayons or colored pencils. The entire courses for reading, math, and language arts are also available at low cost as offline courses in book form. What is Easy Peasy All-in-One Homeschool? Easy Peasy helps enable families to homeschool who thought they couldn’t because of a lack of time, money, or know-how.

Others join EP just because it’s easy and fun and they’re confident of the quality of education. We seek to free families from the burden of pursuing the “perfect” and encourages them to let it be “enough.” Each family and each child is different and we want to encourage your family... In 2011, I (Lee Giles) began putting my children’s assignments online so that they could work independently and so that I had the assignments saved for their younger siblings. I also wrote it from the beginning to be able to be used by other families. EP grade levels and individual courses include 180 days of homeschool lessons and assignments. It covers reading, writing, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, math, history/social studies/geography, science, Spanish, Bible, computer, music, art, PE/health, and logic.

It uses only free materials found on the internet. This site holds preschool, kindergarten, and first through eighth. We have a separate high school site. Choosing a level (on My EP) will set reading, language arts, math, computer and logic, any of which can be switched to a more appropriate level without affecting the others. Choosing a theme enables all of your children to study the same topic at the same time. The themes are based around the history courses of ancient history, early American history, geography and cultures, and modern history.

Music and art are part of these themes and science is set to what would typically be studied at the same time. You choose the courses. Set it and forget it. Then your child just clicks on the assignment box for each course (found on My EP) and does their assignment. It will track what lesson they are on and their days. It does not save any other information.

We do not keep any records of your students. It’s just an aid for you. My collection of educational resources for after school, homeschool, or preschool When I was looking for homeschool curriculum, I saw a lot of expensive materials and sets. Because I'm teaching preschool and kindergarten to my children, I decided to prioritize FREE online materials and then add extracurricular activities and field trips for a well-rounded approach. This also gives me time to research the best curriculum for their learning style on my budget.

I am creating a robust guide to homeschooling, but in the meantime I wanted to share these FREE curriculum options that have helped me along the way. A free curriculum usually provides links, activities, videos and print outs for each day of your homeschool. Or it might be a printable PDF that you use as workbook with your child. You may acquire other textbooks, toys, and supplemental memberships to supplement as you go. It's a great way to get started without breaking the bank. It's free and you can start anytime.
