Just Finished Up My First Week As A Human Resource Student At Byu
Just finished up my first week as a Human Resource Student at BYU! Thank you to everyone who has reached out, answered my questions, or offered to connect me with their network. Looking forward to continuing to learn and grow this semester, and excited to see what the future brings. Go Cougs! P.S. - Thanks to you too, Nate Randle 😉
I wonder what would have been opened to me sooner had I known what LinkedIn was sooner. You’re in good hands, Ella! Great to hear your year is off to a great start. I might be biased, but you have chosen an excellent field of study! I just finished my first week as a Human Resources Management Major in the BYU Marriott School of Business! It is a privilege to join the Marriott's community of talented scholars and professionals, even though it means trekking up and down the infamous stairs in the Tanner building :) Looking forward to an...
#humanresources #byumarriottschoolofbusiness I am excited to share that I graduated from BYU this past April with a degree in Human Resource Management! My time at BYU was truly transformative. I’m especially grateful for the experiences I had in the Human Resource Management program One of my biggest takeaways: Just go for it. Whether it was applying to the HR program (even after being waitlisted!), pursuing internships (after being waitlisted), or taking on new challenges, I grew the most when I stretched myself and tried something new. Not every attempt was a success, but every effort led to growth and learning—and that’s something I want to continue throughout my life.
I’m deeply thankful for the support of my classmates, professors, and mentors at the BYU Marriott School of Business. Special thanks to Kurt Sandholtz, Cody Reeves, Ben Galvin, Reid Tileston and Laura Horton Muhlestein, SHRM-SCP for their guidance. I would also like to thank my wife Mia and my parents, Jason Burtch and Cyndi Burtch, for their unwavering support through my journey at BYU. Go Cougs! Tyler Burtch I am excited for what the future has in store for you. Keep me in the loop...
You've got a brilliant career ahead, Tyler. So grateful for your maturity and judgment--excellent qualities in a TA but even more so in an HR professional. We’re still missing you! So many learning and growing experiments. Thanks for the journey! Congrats bro - you’re awesome!
Happy I was able to learn alongside you and to see what it means to have grit. Keep killing it!
