NJEA is proud to represent faculty and staff at our 19 community colleges. NJEA is committed to protecting the interests of our members and students in higher education. NJEA supports local associations’ efforts to negotiate for improvements in salary, fringe benefits, and working conditions. The safeguarding of academic freedom, tenure, the retirement system, and the School Employees’ Health Benefits Program are a major function of NJEA’s Higher Education advocacy. ​​​The American Council on Education (ACE) is a membership organization that mobilizes the higher education community to shape effective public policy and foster innovative, high-quality practice. As the major coordinating body for the nation’s colleges and universities, our strength lies in our diverse membership. When you join ACE, you join nearly 1,600 colleges, universities, and education associations that promote and advocate for students, faculty, and administrators. Support the American Council on Education (ACE) in building an inclusive, dynamic, and resilient higher education sector. The Council leads efforts to raise national awareness of the importance of greater diversity within higher education. ACE’s professional development programs for women and other diverse leaders, its ACE Fellows Program, and other initiatives have strengthened and diversified the pipeline to higher education leadership.

Board of Quality Standards (BQS) International AAHEA is a member of The Board of Quality Standards. BQS is an independent international quality assurance regulator and a member of the international quality assurance agencies for higher education (INQAAHE). AAHEA is a Registered Constituent of Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC), managed by Bureau of Diplomatic Security, U.S. Department of State. Our members and affiliates should review the OSAC guidelines.

The American Association for Higher Education and Accreditation enjoys a profile listing under the United Nations NGO Branch Section. AAHEA is Official Certifying Authority for The President's Volunteer Service Awards. You can connect to AAHEA for recognition of your volunteer services. There are many higher education associations, organizations, and alliances in the United States of America. These groups are relevant to the structure of higher education in the United States. One way the associations distinguish themselves is if their members are presidents of institutions or not.

Established in 1918, the American Council on Education (ACE) [2] is a United States organization comprising over 1,800 accredited, degree-granting colleges and universities and higher education-related associations, organizations, and corporations. ACE is being known as the "umbrella" higher education association in the United States. Based in Washington, D.C. at the National Center for Higher Education, ACE convenes the "Group of The Six" which brings together the six most important presidentially based higher education associations in the United States, in order to foster... The associations belonging to the "Group of The Six" are: ACE, AACC, APLU, AASCU, AAU and NAICU. The organization conducts public policy advocacy, research, and other initiatives related to key higher education issues, and plays a significant role in higher education leadership development.

HECA’s mission is advancing professionalism in college admissions consulting. While our members receive numerous membership benefits, we also have a number of expectations for our members to maintain a level of professionalism, knowledge, and expertise to support our mission. As a HECA member, you’ll be expected to: If you’ve reviewed these membership expectations and believe you’re eligible for HECA membership, the final step in joining HECA is to apply for HECA membership. To maintain one’s membership, HECA educational consultants must earn a minimum number of professional development points each year.
