DCA’s Division of Local Government Services held a training session for County Shared Services Coordinators on the Shared Services and Consolidation Act and the program requirements of the Local Efficiency Achievement Program (LEAP). Through the LEAP program, 12 NJ counties have hired shared services coordinators using awarded grants. These coordinators serve as a single point of contact for local units within their counties and work to reduce costs, create efficiencies, and enhance community services through shared services agreements with neighboring towns. Since the LAB program began in 2019, the state has collected over 4,400 shared service agreements, which have generated more than $365,000,000 in cost savings or enhanced services for NJ taxpayers, along with $24,000,000...
