Among those departing are political reporter Alex Zdan and meteorologist James Gregorio, a hallmark of the TV station for decades. Also leaving: Rick Holmes, John Bathke, two veteran cameramen, a news producer, and an assignment desk editor. Today’s announcement calls into question News 12’s coverage of local politics, especially with 120 seats in the New Jersey Legislature coming up in five weeks and the recent indictment of U.S. Senator Bob Menendez. It’s not immediately clear who will replace Zdan as host of News 12’s popular weekly show, Power & Politics. Nikita Ramos is an American Emmy Award-winning journalist who has been working as an Evening anchor and reporter for New 12 Westchester since May 2022.

Previously, she worked as a fill-in anchor for News 12 Westchester, New 12 Hudson Valley, and News 12 Long Island, NY. In addition, Nikita has also served as a reporter and a multimedia journalist(MMJ). Ramos worked for WETM -TV as a reporter and anchor since September 2019. Nikita’s role as an MMJ at New 12 meant that she got to shoot, edit, write, voice-over, record her own standups, and execute daily solo live shots. Moreover, she also got to plan, produce, edit, and report weekly her segment “Road Trip: Close to Home”. As an anchor, she covers national and local stories for News 12 from the anchor desk in the evening under the company of her meteorologist Addison Green.
