A Level 1 Trauma Center and the first designated Pediatric Trauma Center in the state, RWJUH serves as a national resource in its groundbreaking approaches to emergency preparedness. RWJUH is also expanding its surgical services by adding 23 new state of-the-art operating rooms, the state’s only intraoperative MRI, a fully automated central sterile processing center and a 54-bed pre- and post-anesthesia unit... In 2024, RWJUH introduced its new, state-of-the-art trauma care intensive unit. The 10,500-square-foot unit features 12 ICU Patient Rooms equipped with lights, booms, lifts, dialysis connections and computers; spacious staff and clinical support areas; private, welcoming family waiting area; and a private physician-family consultation room.
