Teachers Pay Teachers (TpT) was founded in 2006 by Paul Edelman, a former New York City public school teacher. Edelman started TpT with the vision of creating a platform where teachers could share their original educational materials and resources, thereby helping each other to improve classroom learning experiences. His goal was to empower educators by providing them access to a wider range of teaching materials than they could individually create, tapping into the collective expertise of educators across the globe (Wikipedia) (Teachers... Since its inception, TpT has grown significantly, impacting the educational sector by providing a marketplace where over 5 million teachers exchange resources each year. Remarkably, TpT boasts that 70 percent of all U.S. educators have downloaded resources from the platform.

The success stories include several "teacherpreneurs" who have earned millions from their sales on TpT, highlighting the platform's capacity to support educators not just pedagogically but financially as well (Wikipedia). Grades Covered Resources are available for a comprehensive range from PreK to 12th grade, catering to a broad spectrum of educational stages. Cost While the platform itself is free to join, resource prices vary, typically ranging from free to around $25, with bulk packages or more comprehensive curriculum sets costing more. On average, users might spend anywhere from $10 to $100 per month depending on their needs. Users can filter by price on the platform. Teachers Pay Teachers is unique in that it is predominantly a user-generated platform that allows educators to buy and sell original educational materials.

This peer-to-peer marketplace model supports a diverse range of content that is continually updated by its users, reflecting current educational trends and needs. TpT supports various formats, from lesson plans and worksheets to interactive lessons via its tool, Easel by TpT, which integrates assessment and learning management functionality (Wikipedia). Community, Resources, & Expert Support for Homeschooling Families Hi! 👋 I’m Manisha Snoyer, the founder of Modulo. We’re a marketplace, newsletter, podcast and curated online community for modular learners. In this Substack, I write about modern homeschooling, technology, nature-based curriculum, whole child development and the future of education. We’re also a growing educational marketplace that offers tailored support to families navigating modular learning and homeschooling.

We often send free posts and it’s also free to browse our marketplace. But if you’d like to get more tailored support, here’s a snapshot of what we offer to premium members. Teachers Pay Teachers, an online marketplace, is a powerful educational resource for teachers, tutors, and parents powered by educators. Instead of a few supplemental activities that only go with one particular curriculum, imagine the whole teacher supply store, your favorite teacher’s file cabinet, data-driven best practices resources, creative ideas, pretty things, suggestions for... That is Teachers Pay Teachers in a nutshell. <img decoding="async" class="size-medium wp-image-7550 aligncenter" src="https://www.tailorjoy.com/wp-content/uploads/TPTlogodownload-300x80.png" alt="teachers pay teachers logo" width="300" height="80" srcset="https://tailorjoy.b-cdn.net/wp-content/uploads/TPTlogodownload-300x80.png 300w, https://tailorjoy.b-cdn.net/wp-content/uploads/TPTlogodownload.png 434w" sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" />

I discovered this online resource while teaching elementary school and it became even more useful when I started my tutoring business. I knew how to teach the topics, but I was willing to purchase some fun original educational resources or extension activities for my summer school lessons. With over 9 million resources, this is a treasure trove for buyers and sellers of original educational resources. Teachers may need to fill gaps in the curriculum, post anchor charts, or create warm-up material. There are lesson plans, games, flashcards, room decorations, speech therapy activities, assessments, special education resources, seasonal themes, worksheets, projects, foreign languages, ESL, task cards, classroom management ideas, and so much more. While most of it is geared towards K-12, there are some adult education materials and specialty items.

Manisha Snoyer is a passionate teacher with 15 years of experience with kids of different talents, psychological types, and walks of life. This "teacherpreneur” founded Modulo—a tool that accelerates learning through individualized instruction and a flexible school schedule. Manisha debunks myths about homeschooling and shares her experience of creating a community of like-minded people seeking better education for their children. In her twenties, Manisha tutored while studying acting in Paris, then went on to teach French in new York. Over the years, teaching at private, public, and bilingual schools, she taught more than 2,000 children, from the richest of the rich to the poorest of the poor. When Manisha started her own school, she found herself spending more time on marketing and payment processing than teaching.

Solving that gave her the idea to found her first company, a marketplace for micro-schools. Then, the pandemic school closures happened, leading to an extraordinary research opportunity. A lot of families needed help and guidance, and Manisha talked to hundreds of homeschoolers, and explored a lot of Facebook groups to see what kind of questions and needs people had. By listening to as many people as possible, Modulo started to take shape as a tool to help families design the ideal educational experience for their children. Modulo wanted to help families impacted by school closures, but didn't have time to set up their own non-profit. So, they joined Open Collective Foundation, which provided the company with 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsorship.

Oak Meadow was established in 1975 by Lawrence and Bonnie Williams out of a necessity to create a suitable learning environment for their own children, blending educational innovation with nurturing. Lawrence Williams, equipped with experience and training from the Waldorf education system, brought a deep understanding of child development and educational principles to Oak Meadow's foundation. The curriculum initially began as a physical day school and transitioned to a homeschooling curriculum when the original school site was sold. This adaptability was critical in forming a homeschool curriculum that emphasized creativity, respect for natural child development, and the joy of learning, principles still evident in Oak Meadow's approach today (OakMeadow) (OakMeadow). Grades Oak Meadow offers curriculum for students from kindergarten through grade 12, covering the complete range of elementary to high school education. Cost The cost of Oak Meadow's curriculum varies depending on the grade level and materials chosen.

Independent Homeschooling Curriculum: Prices range from approximately $120 for individual courses to around $500 for full grade packages per year. This cost includes all core subjects with additional costs for supplementary materials. Accredited Distance Learning School: Enrollment costs vary but are generally higher, averaging from $1,500 to $2,500 per academic year, depending on the grade level and the extent of teacher support provided. This option includes full academic credit and additional resources like teacher evaluations and support
