How do I get help with my Canvas course? You can connect with a Canvas support representative through several options. The live chat available from the Help menu allows you to get answers quickly, while you may choose to directly talk to a IT support service representative. Who provides computer, Internet access and accessories? You will need a computer (PC or MAC) with internet access to take an online course. You are responsible for your own ISP (Internet Service Provider).
In case your instructor is using Respondus Monitor, you will need Respondus LockDown Browser installed on a laptop or desktop computer to attempt an exam. If your class has a scheduled virtual office hour or online class meeting time, you will need a microphone, speaker, or a webcam to successfully participate in the course. What are the browser and computer requirements? The IT Help Desk provides end-user technology support onsite at our walk-in location on campus, via phone, and online. We are the front door that connects users to a full spectrum of help and support resources. The Help Desk is the quickest and easiest way to get help and is staffed with representatives who are ready and waiting to take your phone call.

Welcome to the online learning at Bergen. Students registered in an online or hybrid course are enrolled in a Canvas course. In addition, your instructor may use Canvas to supplement face-to-face or a synchronous course. Your online course begins the first day of the academic semester. Unless otherwise instructed, your class begins on the first day of the semester. To access your course in Canvas open a browser and go to the Portal site my.bergen.edu.
You can find instructions on how to login to the Portal and connect to Canvas via Portal listed on the Portal Help Site. If you do not remember your Bergen username, view the instructions. If you previously logged into the portal but have now forgotten your password, view the instructions. About one week before the beginning of the semester, you will receive an email with login instructions. If your email address or home address has changed, please go into Self Service and update your record or email [email protected] with the new information. If you register after class has begun, you will receive an email within 24 hours.

The books can be picked up in store or shipped directly to the student. Students should allow five to seven business days for their books to be delivered, especially during the beginning of each semester when book purchases are at their peak. The faculty support team is an integral part of providing assistance, running training programs and organizing special projects. An instructional designer is available to offer advice and direction to faculty who wish to develop best practices in the instructional uses of technology. The Teaching and Learning Exchange provides information on how to subscribe to online Journals, access on-demand professional development training and handouts from in-person workshops.
The Center supports innovative projects including software evaluation, instructional material development and professional development activities. Additionally, the Center offers an array of workshops to faculty and staff to learn newer technologies.There are many options to get updated on the technology including semester-wide workshops, one-on-one assistance and self-paced Atomic Learning... Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend CITL workshops offered every semester. Registration is required for each workshop. Some workshops may have prerequisite requirements. Register online for any CITL workshop by viewing the schedule and completing the registration form.
To better understand your need we suggest that you submit a workshop suggestion form or a custom workshop request form for your discipline or a group of your colleagues. If you are interested in offering a workshop email us at [email protected] Cancellation by Presenter: Please let us know as soon as possible or at least 2 days ahead of time so that we can find a replacement or cancel the workshop. Copies: If you need copies of your handout, kindly submit them to [email protected] one week in advance to allow for processing in the Copy Center. Without advanced notice, please provide handouts. CITL provides troubleshooting support on a one-on-one basis for instructional and administrative software.
