Orientation, Transition and Parent Programs helps new undergraduate students get started and strive for academic and personal success. All undergraduate students (including F-1 international students) complete the New to UB process. Learn more at at the website below. University at Buffalo112 Student Union, North CampusBuffalo, NY 14260 Chapman's Orientation experience provides a comprehensive start to students and families journey into the Chapman community. Each day provides unique programming and opportunities to start making connections, get settled, and find their sense of belonging. Students engage in every day of orientation and do not select one specific day to attend. Spring Orientation will take place the week before the spring semester starts; Registration for Orientation will be available in January.

Each student can bring two guests free of charge. Any additional guests will have a registration fee. Only incoming Chapman students may register themselves and their guests, after logging in with their Chapman single-sign-on. <h3><strong>Chapman Chats: You're All in the Same Boat - Orientation 101</strong></h3> <p>Hear from Orientation Leaders Kurt and Kaia about the magical Chapman orientation process. If you are feeling stressed about transitioning to college, this is the episode for you (parents, that includes you, too!).</p> Family involvement plays a key role in academic success.

That is why Chapman hosts Family Orientation concurrently with Student Orientation. We encourage families to attend all days offered and we understand that sometimes schedules do not allow. This is why families can choose to attend one or multiple days. First Year Orientation is required of all new students. Toward the end of March, once you have confirmed your enrollment, you will receive information about completing your New Student Checklist and selecting an Orientation date. You must sign up for your Orientation date prior to July 1, 2025.

You will receive a link to your schedule the day of Orientation with more details of times and locations. At New Student Orientation, you will meet with an academic advisor, connect with other new Terps, and register for classes. Our program is designed to prepare you for the academic rigor at UMD, introduce you to Maryland traditions, and acquaint you with campus resources. Check your pre-orientation To-Do List for more information. Incoming students who wish to change their intended major should email their request to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at ApplyMaryland@umd.edu using the subject line "Change of Major Request". Please note that your New Student Orientation date is dependent upon your major and may need to be changed once your change of major is processed. Once you have received a confirmation that your major has been updated, please call our office to double check that your New Student Orientation date works for your new major. Advising & Orientation (A&O) is your comprehensive introduction to the UW. You’ll connect with other students, learn about campus resources, meet with academic advisers and register for classes.

Advising & Orientation sessions and Family Orientation will be offered in a hybrid format. You must accept your offer and pay the Enrollment Confirmation Deposit (ECD) before before you can reserve your spot for A&O. First-year students are required to make a reservation for a remote A&O session. You are required to attend the full A&O program, which includes three parts: After reserving your A&O session, you’ll get access to complete the online pre-A&O modules (Part 1) on your own time. Be sure to complete these modules at least 72 hours before attending your remote A&O session on Zoom (Part 2).

During A&O you will register for classes, discover campus resources and begin making connections with the UW community. Your Orientation Leaders (current students) will guide you through discussions and activities with academic advisers and campus experts. They’ll also be on-hand to give advice and answer questions. New Student Orientation is your first step toward discovering everything UH has to offer: world-class academics, vibrant campus life, and opportunities that will shape your future. New Student Orientation (NSO) is a required program designed to help you transition smoothly into the University of Houston community. When you register for NSO, you also secure your academic advising appointment.

Make sure you have your CougarNet credentials handy to log in and secure your spot. During Spring NSOs, you’ll meet other new Coogs, connect with current student leaders, faculty, and staff, and learn about the services and resources that will help you succeed. Before the day is over, you’ll meet with your academic college advising team and enroll in your first classes! You may notice a few indicators or holds on your account related to orientation. These holds will prevent you from enrolling in classes.
