Vocational Education and Training (VET) is a critical component of preparing individuals for working life. As the needs of the labour market evolve and change, education must also adapt. We will improve the quality of VET practices based on the needs of the labour market. Meanwhile we will confirm cooperation between VET providers, companies, chambers, national authorities, and other stakeholders by developing Joint VET qualifications. We create a strong future oriented European level network, that creates a vision, strategy and action plan with the goal of stronger cooperation in the future. The VET2Sustain partners gathered in Hannover on 8–9 October 2025 for a fruitful face-to-face meeting dedicated to strengthening the attractiveness and quality of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Europe.

At the start of the project, VAMK coordinated and led the collection and analysis of data essential for the development phase. By applying service design methods, the team has explored the big picture from a user-centred perspective, gaining valuable insights into what drives the attractiveness of vocational education. With the knowledge collected and structured through this process, project partners have deepened their understanding of the key factors influencing the appeal of vocational education and training. “We wanted to understand the experiences and pain points that affect the attractiveness of vocational education,” says a representative from VAMK’s Smart Design Platform. Using design tools, the project team has been able to dive deeper into underlying issues, reveal root causes, and identify solutions that can support both marketing and development of vocational education. The project is still ongoing.

The next phase will focus on turning insights into action — finding practical ways to strengthen the attractiveness of vocational education across Europe. #VET2sustain #VAMK #SmartDesignPlatform #ServiceDesign #VocationalEducation #DesignThinking #ErasmusPlus #Sustainability 🌍 Sairam SDG Immersion Program 🌱 At Sri Sairam Engineering College, we are committed to nurturing socially responsible engineers who create sustainable and impactful solutions for the future.
