City of Dublin ETB Adult Education Service provides free classes in adult education and community centres in over 150 locations in Dublin 1-12. Tutors and learners work together in a supportive, warm, friendly environment. Our courses are designed to bring learners together. With a wide range of courses, you will find a course to suit you. Our Adult Education Service courses run throughout the year, so you can start at a time that is right for you. Most courses start in September or January, but we have many courses starting at other times of the year.

City of Dublin ETB was established on 1st July 2013 under the Education and Training Boards Act, 2013. We are the state education and training authority for Dublin city with over 3,000 staff and 33,000 (full and part time) learners. We operate 27 schools and colleges including one Community National School, one Community Special School, two Community Hospital Schools, 11 Post Primary Schools and 12 Colleges of Further Education. City of Dublin FET College is the largest provider of QQI awards in Further Education and Training in Ireland and is made up of four campuses offering thousands of courses (PLC, apprenticeships, traineeships, Youthreach,... We are also responsible for SUSI, the national awarding authority for student grants in Ireland. City of Dublin ETB supports the provision, coordination, administration and assessment of Youth Services in Dublin city and is the lead partner in Music Generation Dublin City.

This provision is supported by a range of services including a psychological service, a curriculum development unit, a buildings capital and maintenance unit and the Head Office administrative staff in Ballsbridge. To provide adult education – literacy and numeracy, digital skills, accredited courses from levels 2 to 5, art, wellbeing, dressmaking and craft – and adult education guidance to people in the Dublin 10 area. Adult Education Guidance helps people to make informed education, career and life choices by providing impartial and confidential Guidance Counselling and Information to adults in relation to their education, training and career options. Our service is free of charge. You can meet with a professional and qualified Guidance Counsellor or Guidance Information Officer in a confidential setting to discuss your education and training needs.
