Bug Unable To Download Dataset In Restricted Network Github
There was an error while loading. Please reload this page. In restricted or offline network environments, it is currently not possible to run lighteval because it attempts to download datasets (e.g., from the Hugging Face Hub or mirrors) without fallback options. When access to sites like https://huggingface.co or https://hf-mirror.com is blocked, dataset loading fails completely. Run lighteval in an environment without internet access or with Hugging Face domains blocked. Observe that dataset loading (e.g., via load_dataset() from the datasets library) fails.
I have implemented support for running lighteval in fully offline mode and plan to submit a PR soon. Hopefully, this will help address the issue and make the tool more accessible in restricted environments. If you're having trouble connecting to GitHub, you can troubleshoot your connection, then use the GitHub Debug tool to diagnose problems. Most often, connection problems occur because a firewall, proxy server, corporate network, or other network is configured in a way that blocks GitHub. Make sure your network is configured to allow GitHub's IP addresses. For more information, see About GitHub's IP addresses.
If you're having connectivity problems on your company or organization's network, check with your network administrator to find out if the network has rules in place to block certain traffic. If there are rules in place, ask your network administrator to allow traffic to GitHub. If you're unable to verify with the captcha: There was an error while loading. Please reload this page. I am not able to download anything from GITHUB, I have tried downloading the raw files for my use but no action is working when I click the download button.

The kachery-p2p-start-daemon command issued from the system fails to initiate the connection required to access datasets. The output is as follows: I'm trying to download the datasets using the script provided at scripts/download_recordings.py, which obviously fails with the following error: The conda environment used was created using the instructions given in the readme for this repo.
No additional packages were installed. Thanks! There was an error while loading. Please reload this page. When I attempt to download a model from the Hub that is gated without being logged in, I get a nice error message. E.g.:
If I do the same for a gated dataset on the Hub, I'm not gated a nice error message IMO: Copy-and-paste the text below in your GitHub issue. If your network restricts access to specific domains, a network administrator may be able to grant access to GitHub's services by creating exceptions for GitHub's domain names. In rare cases, an institution's network access policy may restrict access to specific domain names for end users. For example, the policy may use DNS filtering to deny access to sites like GitHub. If your institution requires this level of control, but you still want to permit access to services on GitHub, you can create exceptions in your policy to allow access to the necessary domains.
You can use the REST API to retrieve a list of GitHub's domain names. The list of domains from the REST API is not intended to be comprehensive. If you block access to services using DNS, but selectively allow access to GitHub's domain names, any or all of GitHub and related services may not function properly or at all for your end...
