Head Start This program is for children ages 3 to 5. It is a comprehensive child development program which is child focused and has the overall goal of increasing the school readiness of young children in low-income families. Head Start not only fosters healthy development in the children and the strengthening of families, but also provides a range of services in medical, dental, mental health, nutrition and parent involvement. It is designed to be responsive to each child and families developmental, ethnic, cultural and linguistic heritage and experiences. Early Head Start This program is for infants and toddlers from birth to three years old and pregnant women. The pre-natal program for pregnant women is designed to work with pregnant women to insure that pre-natal medical care is received and to prepare them for the birth of their child.

The Administration for Children & Families (ACF) is a division of the Department of Health & Human Services. ACF promotes the economic and social well-being of families, children, individuals and communities. To be the untiring voice that will not be quiet until every vulnerable child is served with the Head Start model of support for the whole child, the family and the community. Each Head Start agency shall make available to the public a report published at least once in each fiscal year that discloses information from the most recently concluded fiscal year.
