Annenberg Learner was known variously as the Annenberg/CPB Project, the Annenberg/CPB Math and Science Project, and Annenberg/CPB from the mid-1980s through 2003. During this period, it was a project contracted by the Annenberg Foundation located at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. In 2004, the project was incorporated into the Annenberg Foundation. Between 2004 through 2010 it operated under the name Annenberg Media. In 2011, it became Annenberg Learner. Annenberg Learner now leads the field in providing free educational resources online.

Stitch for LA County Youth (stitchla.org) offers educators, families, and schools free access to a wide range of geographically searchable activities, exhibits, and programs for all ages and interests. Co-created by Annenberg Learner and trusted local education and cultural organizations, Stitch is proud to serve local youth. Annenberg Learner, Step Up Tutoring, and Arizona State University’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College have created high-impact tutor training resources to support a national tutoring corps.

Developed in partnership with Stanford’s National Student Support Accelerator (NSSA) and other experts, the initiative offers 24 free nano-courses through ASU’s Community Educator Learning Hub. Now, tutors can earn a High-Impact Tutoring Micro-credential from ASU. The Community School Coordinator (CSC) – sometimes called a Community School Manager, Community School Director, or Resource Coordinator, among other names – plays an essential role in a community school.

A CSC functions as a high-level school administrator – similar to an Assistant Principal – to facilitate community school partnerships and practices aimed at supporting student learning and development. The job can and will look different at each community school site; however, the CSC role will often entail: Convening, facilitating, and often staffing a community school leadership team to set goals, evaluate progress and support community school development.
