“To prepare personals for industry and researchTo provide leadership in innovative researchTo provide engagement with industry, government and communitiesTo work on real-world issues” Executive Vice President for Research and Innovations (Acting) Vice President for Research and Innovations Director, KMITL Research and Innovation Services (KRIS) Research | Academic services | Intellectual Property l StartupKMITL The KMITL Research and Innovation Services (KRIS) has undertaken many great projects to advance in the field of Space Economy.

In our previous posts, we’ve been setting the scene for the need for more precise signals and satellite position as a result of the Plasma Bubble phenomenon. Space Weather (SW) information is mandatory for aviation, communications, logistics and navigation. Its accuracy becomes a priority for many stakeholders and related industries while safety becomes a major concern when the precision of GPS and radio signals are off by even the slightest millimeter. This is why KRIS along with the KMITL Space Hub Chumporn, have joined forces with the world’s best in monitoring Space Weather and Space Bubbles to seek out the most effective and sustainable precise... Since 2019, we have initiated the ASEAN-IVO Project which focuses primarily on device development utilizing GNSS and Ionospheric Data information to prevent disasters and safeguard for aviation in low magnetic latitude regions. We have also worked with the Japan’s primary National Research Institute for Information and Communications (NICT) to install a Equitorial Plasma Bubble (EPB) radar detection system for observation of naturally occurring plasma bubbles in...

With our KMITL Space Hub set in the Chumporn Campus, we are able to capitalize on our geographical and technical strengths to capture data on plasma bubbles that are generated nearby. These observations allow researchers to monitor the location and velocity of the plasma bubbles for better understanding of its disturbance and effects on satellite precision. Ever since the start of these highly important SW initiatives, we have been able to utilize our collaborations with the NICT and our home-grown technology and researchers to put us in the right direction... Stay tuned for our last installment of the Plasma Bubble series from KRIS. #KRIS #SDG9 #EquatorialPlasmaBubbles #EPB #KMITLSpaceHubChumporn #NICT Email: kris@kmitl.ac.th LINE: @kris.kmitl FB: KMITL Research and Innovation Services IG: kris.kmitl Research | Academic services | Intellectual Property l StartupKMITL

A New Approach—People-centric Smart Cities The use of technology and big data to develop more effective, efficient and innovative ways of life for people working and living in a city is not a new... Over the past decade, Smart Cities and their advancements have been introduced in manufacturing, governance, healthcare, agriculture, energy, transportation, infrastructure, buildings and security. With every new innovation, there are considerable benefits to the entire ecosystem of citizens, consumers, service providers and the many other stakeholders involved. Although these smart solutions are theoretically able to provide solutions for all societies, the widespread adoption of such innovations may not be suitable for every country, industry or culture. During the KMITL Innovation Expo 2024, Mr. Mr.

Boonchu Chansuwan, President of the Provincial Administrative Organization, Suphanburi Province and Dr. Kanop Ketchart, Mayor of the Nakhorn Si Tammarat City Municipality, discussed the many advances they have accomplished by changing the traditional smart city approach of introducing technology into the society to People-centric Smart Cities... Success stories from Suphanburi and Nakhorn Si Tammarat were able to pinpoint that the one barrier to success for successful implementation, is that many of the innovations are rather general in nature and are... Therefore, a change of mindset and new approach to creating sustainable smart cities are needed. With this new frame of mind, it has led to the creation of people-centric smart city development where local needs of the people, culture and community are studied and matched with the appropriate innovations... For example, The Suphanburi My City and @Nakhoncity applications are developed on the LINE application platform to provide access to municipalities and channels to file complaints or report issues to help alleviate the burden...

Real-time surveillance and weather conditions are sent through news feeds in the apps and queuing for municipalities can be effectively managed so that citizens can optimize their daily lives. The economic benefits are vast as the provincial governments have been able to save millions of Baht to date. Inspiring concepts from inspiring people. The future of People-centric Smart Cities is bright.
