The Niemi Campus is at the heart of operations, housing the facilities of the University of Helsinki, LUT University, the Coordination Unit of the Lahti University Campus and LAB University of Applied Sciences. The steering group and management group oversee cooperation on the University Campus. The Coordination Unit of the Lahti University Campus promotes practical cooperation, which is also carried out in expert groups. “Stronger Together” strategy was published in 2023.

Our campuses are in Lappeenranta and Lahti, Finland, but our impact is global. The Lahti campus consists of two buildings – Mukkulankatu 19 (M19) and Niemenkatu 73 (N73 or Nie73). Entry via red doors by personal access card or Lahti Campus - Exam visitor card The M19 building is open to students with an access card from 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM. With a separate night work notification, access can be granted for the hours between 12:00 AM and 6:00 AM. The notification must be sent by email to the teacher responsible for studies and to Facilities Services at tilapalvelut.lahti@lut.fi. The notification must include information about which spaces access is needed for. Access is granted for one night at a time for a specific study-related reason.

Once the responsible teacher has confirmed the notification, access rights will be updated to the access card. Allowing other individuals to enter is prohibited! Lappeenrannan teknillinen korkeakoulu käynnisti pysyvän toiminnan Lahdessa elokuussa 1996. Kaksi vuosikymmentä myöhemmin Lahden yksikkö kehittyi yliopiston toiseksi kampukseksi, ja tänä päivänä LUT-yliopisto työllistää Lahdessa lähes 300 asiantuntijaa. Lahdessa toimivat kaikki LUTin tiedekunnat. Vahvaa tutkimusta tehdään muun muassa kestävyystieteen, biojalostuksen, sähköisen liikenteen, ohjelmistotuotannon, tietojohtamisen sekä tuotantotalouden saralla.

Uuden ajan oppimis- ja tutkimusympäristö on saneerattu entiseen tehdaskiinteistöön, jossa toimii myös LUT-korkeakouluyhteisöön kuuluva LAB-ammattikorkeakoulu. Kampus yhdistää saman katon alle yli 8 000 opiskelijaa, 800 työntekijää ja 20 yritystä. LUT on Lahden alueen merkittävä tutkimus- ja yritysyhteistyötoimija. ANDRITZ Oy:n kanssa tehtävän yhteistyön kautta kampukselle on syntynyt uusi kuitutekniikkaan keskittyvä tutkimuskeskus. Urban culture, a diverse range of services, and its central location close to the Helsinki metropolitan area make Lahti a great city for study. Lahti is located at the intersection of roads and railways, offering good transport connections in all directions. For example, Helsinki and Lappeenranta can be reached by train in about an hour and there is a direct bus connection to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Our campus is located along Mukkulankatu Street, about three kilometres from the centre of Lahti. The modern learning environment has been renovated within a factory property that, together with LAB University of Applied Sciences, brings more than 6,000 students, 800 LUT students and about 20 companies under the same... In addition to the factory property along Mukkulankatu Street, the campus area includes the Lahti Science Park building in Niemenkatu Street.
