Having merged with The Association of Magazine Media in July 2022, the News/Media Alliance performs advocacy and research and conducts events, the goal of which is to support of a free, independent press.

For the last 100 years, the organization has grown through the combining of a range of news and media publishing associations, most recently including a merger with MPA-The Association of Magazine Media in 2022.
