Regional director Constantin The quality of European vocational education is systematically developed through the EQAVET framework. The framework aims to support member states in implementing high-quality, competitive, and socially equitable education. According to the 2020 Recommendation of the European Council, vocational education should respond to changes in the labor market, promote inclusivity, and support the transition to green Dozens of job seekers and employer representatives filled Samiedu's Paussi restaurant on the day of the Recruitment Fair. The day was a success and the queue for the fair started at the main entrance of Samiedu.
Students were selling their skills to companies for the upcoming summer season and companies were on hand to showcase their own activities as employers. Almost sixty exhibitors have signed up. – This is the first time we have participated in a recruitment fair, and it's really busy, says JP-Set's Managing Director Tuomo Kyttälä with satisfaction. Our company operates in the metal sector and we have recently had students, mainly on apprenticeships. We are also happy to take on students on training contracts, and today we have already discussed trainee contracts for next spring with some of the students. Veikka Mustonen is also present at the fair, where he will present the company's activities and talk about his own application for an apprenticeship.
– I called Tuomo directly and after a short discussion I went for an interview. This kind of contacting works well, agrees Tuomo Kyttälä. Veikka Mustonen completed a vocational qualification in mechanical engineering and production technology through an apprenticeship and graduated from Samiedu in December 2024. – I also took a little holiday and actually started work yesterday, says Veikka. In addition, short- and long-term action plans will be developed for VET organisations at regional, national and EU level, ensuring a well-coordinated and forward-looking approach across Europe. Virpi Kaasinen then provided an update on efforts to create and strengthen cooperation models for vocational education and training in Europe, with a particular focus on exploring networking opportunities.
