Our members represent over 2,200 diverse publishers in the United States—from the largest groups and international outlets to hyperlocal sources, from digital-only and digital-first to print. Our members are trusted and respected providers of quality journalism. The News/Media Alliance is a nonprofit organization headquartered in the Washington, D.C. area. For the last 100 years, the organization has grown through the combining of a range of news and media publishing associations, most recently including a merger with MPA-The Association of Magazine Media in 2022. Our work focuses on the key challenges and opportunities of today’s media environment: Freedom of the press, public policy and legal matters, advertising growth, new revenue streams and audience development across all platforms.
The News/Media Alliance is dedicated to working with our members, as well as other partner organizations, to advance the industry through advocacy, critical research and resources and events that connect and inspire. Muehlenbeck is a seasoned finance executive with more than two decades of non-profit industry experience leading financial strategy, operations, and risk management.
