Free learning guide from EASY EXCEL Moodle authentication uses Gettysburg College single sign-on (SSO) and Duo. Moodle login links are also available on the Faculty, Student, and Employee landing pages. Enter your Gettysburg College Username and Password, then click the Login button. The next screen presents a credential certificate showing the information that is shared with Moodle. Consent duration defaults to “Ask me again if information to be provided to this service changes” (middle option).

We recommend using the default selection. Click the Accept button. You will be redirected to Moodle as a logged in user. If you encountered any problems during this login, please reach out to Kelli Murphy at kbmurphy@gettysburg.edu. The ITHelpdesk is the front door to Gettysburg College’s Information Technology. It is the central location for solving computer problems for faculty, staff, and administrators.

The ITHelpdesk is located on the first floor of the West Building and is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday during the academic year. During the summer months, hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

You may call the ITHelpdesk at ext. 7000 (on campus), 717-337-7000 (off campus), or e-mail ITHelpdesk@gettysburg.edu for assistance. G-Tech is the venue for students to have their issues resolved. G-Tech is also located on the first floor of the West Building. Students can call ext. 6935 (on campus), 717-337-6935 (off campus), or e-mail gtech@gettysburg.edu for G-Tech assistance.

Faculty, staff and students can also submit an IT Helpdesk ticket to report a computer problem or to request technical assistance. Callers using ext. 7000 have two menu choices:If you are faculty or staff experiencing Audio/Visual or Enhanced Learning Space issues, telephone or computer problems, please press 1.If you are a student experiencing technology problems, please press 2. The ITHelpdesk has a limited supply of loaner laptops for purposes in situations when there are no computers available. You can reserve a loaner laptop by calling the ITHelpdesk at ext. 7000 or emailing ITHelpdesk@gettysburg.edu.

See the Loaner Laptop Policy for more detailed information. When you return to campus in August, network registration should not be necessary if your computer or device were previously registered. All new computers and devices eligible for registration and capable of running an antivirus program will need to go through network registration in order to connect to the Gettysburg College network. Each student has at least one Ethernet connection (jack) in their room for connecting to the internet with an Ethernet cable. Be sure to plug in devices requiring a hardwired connection into the Ethernet jack labeled either (D1 or D2) and not the telephone jack labeled (V1). Be sure to read the labels carefully.

Remember, you may not add more jacks using routers, switches, hubs, wireless access points or any other device. *Please note: Ethernet common room jacks will be activated upon request only.Multiple computer systems including dual boot systems are permitted on the network as long as they have Windows 10 (for best security use... You can use Linux as well, but there will be limited assistance as Linux is not a primary operating system that we work with. Student computing information, such as how to register a gaming console, Ethernet connected streaming device, an Ethernet connected Smart TV and getting help can be found on the How Do I page. Computing assistance will be available at the West building by appointment only for the start of the semester. Contact information and hours are also posted on the G-Tech web page.

The $2.5 million upgrade will deliver best-in-class network capabilities to today’s students and faculty-scholars, while meeting our community’s growing need for fast, secure, and reliable internet. In all, Information Technology will be installing over 1,135 new wireless access points in more than 85 campus buildings and outdoor locations, along with supporting network hardware, fiber, and CAT 6A copper wiring.

This work will increase network speeds to campus buildings, improve network security, increase Gettysburg’s fiber footprint, and provide the necessary bandwidth to support faculty and student research. Phase 1 of the capital project will upgrade wi-fi in over 25 residence halls, the Dining Hall, Musselman Library, College Union Building, and popular outdoor locations by the end of Fall 2024. By prioritizing these marquee locations, the College seeks to ensure the greatest number of students benefit from the enhanced connectivity upon their return to campus. Phase 2, scheduled to start in Spring 2025, will focus on the remaining residence halls and all academic and administrative buildings. This phase will be completed by the end of Fall 2025. Depending on wi-fi and network hardware availability, the College aims to complete the entire capital project by Summer 2026.
