Materials include corporate telephone directories produced by Brigham Young University. The directories include office numbers, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses and campus affiliation for faculty, staff and administrators. Also includes the same information for the university administration, the various colleges and departments, and other services on campus. Materials dated 1966-2014. Brigham Young University (1903-) is a university sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Provo, Utah.Brigham Young University was established in 1903 in a renaming of Brigham Young Academy. Past and present Brigham Young University presidents include George H. Brimhall (1903-1921), Franklin S. Harris (1921-1945), Howard S. McDonald (1945-1949), (acting president) Christian Jensen (1949-1951), Ernest L. Wilkinson (1951-1971), Dallin H.

Oaks (1971-1980), Jeffrey R. Holland (1980-1989), Rex E. Lee (1989-1995), Merrill J. Bateman (1996-2003), and Cecil O. Samuelson (2003- ). Brigham Young University is owned and operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as part of the Church Educational System (CES).

The university is governed by a Board of Trustees, which, since 1939, has consisted of the First Presidency of the Church as well as other General Authorities or general officers of the Church appointed... The Board of Trustees provides general direction and oversees the formulation of broad policies as well as the approval of all executive leadership and faculty appointments at the university. The Board of Trustees delegates to the University President the responsibility to conduct the operations of the institution and administer the policies enacted by the board. The President serves as the chief executive officer and general manager of the University. Since 1996, the President of the university has also been a General Authority of the Church.Brigham Young University has grown from a small academy to one of the world's largest private universities. Sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, BYU offers a unique educational environment that promotes learning by study and also by faith.

New materials are received annually from the university. Contains directories for the African American Oral History Project. Dated from 1988 to 1995.

Contains general correspondence, memos, programs, and hand notes concerning alumni matters. Also includes Karl G. Maeser award recipients (1958-1977), proposed constitution of Brigham Young University Alumni Association, “Together for Greatness” reports, Alumni House proposals, Alumni Association directory, and President’s Club dinner papers. Contains correspondence, directories and proceedings for annual meetings, financial records and ledgers, reports, minutes, newsletters, and short publications and associated with the American Association for the Advancement of Science, for which Wilmer W. Tanner served as secretary-treasurer and president of the regional academy conference. Materials dated approximately 1960-1977.

Directories, campaign pamphlets and bumper stickers, candidate photographs, correspondence, party literature, and audio tapes of conferences, committee and party meetings. Includes Argosy Pictures Corporation and Vanguard Fims, Inc. personnel lists, correspondence about hiring, leaves, and reccomendations, and a wage scale. The L. Tom Perry Special Collections preserves and houses materials requiring great care to protect them and ensure their proper long-term use * Closed for devotional10:45 am –12:15 pm

Access to vault items will be restricted after 5pm on weekdays and all day on Saturdays Here is a map of BYU campus. The Harold B. Lee Library is outlined with blue, and visitor parking is outlined with red. There is visitor parking north of the MOA (Museum of Art) and east of the WSC (Wilkinson Center). L.

Tom Perry Special Collections is located on the first floor of the library, on the north side. The library entrance is on the third floor, so head down two flights of stairs or use the elevator. Overview of the different collections available at the Library The general collections include items in a variety of formats (books, audio/video, maps, databases, journals, etc.) and languages. Items can be found on the shelves, online, or in compact storage. Special Collections preserves fragile or rare books, manuscripts, and papers, as well as materials in selected collecting areas.

Materials may be accessed in the Special Collections Reading Room or, for digitized materials, online. The digital collections include scanned images of books, documents, photographs, and other materials, primarily from Special Collections, as well as research published by BYU faculty and students.
