This is a guide to using the University of Montana’s information dashboard, GrizPortal. First, log in to GrizPortal using your NetID and password. Once you log in, you will be brought to the Home page, which will display an array of different “cards” designed to help you access different kinds of information and services at UM.
Some cards will display information directly, while others will guide you to another resource outside of GrizPortal. Here is an example of what a Home page might look like for a UM student: You can customize your Home page in several ways. You can change the order of the cards by moving them, you can remove cards, or you can add cards. Personalized newsletters on your schedule Announcements via email and text message Sharing of updates with friends and family Griz Hub is a useful tool for keeping you connected to all the happenings on campus. Sign in to learn about student organizations and clubs, register and manage your own organization, enter and view UM events, find campus resources and more! The University utilizes your Net ID to log into any portal application (GrizPortal, etc.) Your Net ID is set-up as two letters followed by numbers and finished with an e for employees.
For example JD123456e Additional information can be viewed on the UM Solutions netID webpage. You can look up your Net ID with your name and birthday on the NetID Lookup website. You can change your Net ID password on the Password Reset website. Griz Hub is a useful tool to help the campus community stay connected. Members of the campus community can use Griz Hub to learn about student organizations and clubs, register and manage their own organization, enter and view UM events, find campus resources, and more!

This is where you could use a direct URL to send people to your organization in the Griz Hub system. Use all lower-case letters, no spaces and the only special character you can use is a dash (-). To keep it simple, we suggest writing out your organization name, in all lower-case with a dash (-) to separate any words. For instance, if your organization is the University Center write your Organization Website URL as university-center.

Unofficial transcripts can be accessed 24/7 in GrizPortal. See the UM Transcript Key for a guide to interpreting information found on a University of Montana transcript. Enter your last name and date of birth into the NetID Lookup Tool to retrieve your NetID (two letters followed by six numbers - for example, ab123456).
